Image Document Processing System - AiDPS
(In the USA AiDPS is known as VRPA+
in the Remittance marketplace, and VPTA+ in Banking)
The Active-image Document Processing System
(AiDPS) comprises a suite of integrated applications designed
to provide complete payment processing solutions to banks,
clearinghouses, utilities, tax offices, local government,
lockbox processors and other institutions that process checks
and payments.
AiDPS is flexible and scaleable, and suitable
for institutions processing from under 800 to over 1 million
items per day. It is used extensively in both check and
remittance processing environments, covering:
- Check-processing
- Proof of deposit
- Outward clearing and inward clearing
- Central clearinghouse processing
- Return items processing
- Remittance
- Payments
- Utility bills and,
- Merchant draft processing.
AiDPS uses state-of-the-art document imaging
technology to reduce the labor required to capture, correct,
balance, and otherwise process checks, merchant drafts (sales
vouchers) and other payments. AiDPS improves payment-processing
operations by performing functions on PC workstations with
document images at greater throughputs than traditional
methods. Images of the documents (checks, credit documents,
tickets, internal documents, sales drafts, etc.), instead
of the physical documents themselves, are retrieved at various
workstations for processing. This use of images reduces
the labor required for processing, reduces the occurrence
of errors caused by physical handling, and decreases the
use of electro-mechanical sorting equipment, while increasing
levels of security, customer service and satisfaction.
AiDPS operates on the Windows® operating
systems, and can be adapted to integrate with a wide range
of transports, offering speeds of up to 2000 documents per
minute. Aperta software is therefore capable of integrating
with a wide range of existing applications and systems,
so the benefit of image based processing does not mean the
replacement of an entire payments processing system.
AiDPS can also be used in the ATM environment,
allowing for imaging of deposits through ATMs, and the onward
processing of items. Images from ATMs can, in conjunction
with Active
Image Archive, further enhance customer service
by delivering images back to customers of deposited items
via e-mail or the web for example.
A set of complementary applications provides for the full
processing of payments and checks from initial capture through
data-entry and completion to the value-added image-based
processing such as archive
and statement
print. These include:
- AiDPS – Image-workflow processing for Check
Processing, Remittance
and lockbox
- Active-image Capture Pass (AiCP); and, Active-image
Power Pass (AiPP)
These components control the transport during the Capture
Process and the Power Process. They are fully Windows®-based
and contribute to a fully integrated, Windows® system.
- Fine sort of documents using Active
Sort Module (ASM) and Bulk File and Statement Sort
- Multi-system consolidation
- Image-based data-entry, correction and balancing:
- Active-image Correction Module (AiCP)
- Data extraction and formatting – can optionally
include extraction of images, if required:
- Active-image Data Extraction (ADE)
- Reporting Module:
- Active-image Reports Module (ARM) – enhanced
to incorporate images when appropriate;
- System auditing and reporting:
- Active Audit Reporting (AAR).
- Active-image
Archive (AiA); and,
- Active-image
Statements (AiS).
